Flanged Butterfly Valve Installation Steps

2.Put bolts and nuts through the flange holes. Tighten them by hand at first. This holds everything and lets you fix the flange position for even touch.
3.If the flanges need welding to the pipe, do spot welds first with the valve there for correct alignment. Then take the valve out carefully.
4.Finish full welding of flanges to the pipe after taking it out. Let the welds cool all the way. This stops heat bending or harm to close parts.
5.Put the valve back in after cooling. Make sure enough space exists around the disc. It must turn fully without hitting anything. The pipe needs to leave room for the disc to open all the way.
6.Center the valve properly. Tighten bolts slowly in a crisscross or star shape. This spreads pressure evenly. Do not tighten too much. That can bend the seat or raise operating torque.
7.Open and close the valve several times from full shut to full open. Check for smooth and clear movement. Change bolt torque if needed. Then check again.
