A Basket Type Strainer is designed to remove solid particles from liquid pipelines, effectively protecting pumps, compressors, valves, and other downstream equipment. By filtering out impurities such as rust, scale, and debris, it helps ensure smooth system operation and extends equipment service life.

Basket strainers are widely used in petroleum, chemical processing, chemical fiber, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, and water treatment industries.

Main technical parameters
It consists of shell, cover, filter trim, mesh, bolts. The total mesh area is 3 to 4 times than the entrance channel. The pressure difference is 0.05 to 0.15, it depends on the design.

Working Principle
The liquid enters the strainer body through the inlet and flows into the basket. Solid contaminants are trapped on the surface of the filter basket, while clean liquid passes through the mesh and exits the outlet. As impurities accumulate, the pressure differential increases, indicating that the basket needs cleaning or replacement.
